Doha, Qatar – The 2025 Qatar Off-Road Championship (QORC) concluded with a challenging Baja-style race in Dukhan, showcasing intense competition across both bike and car categories. Hosted by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), the final round of the series saw Alex McInnes secure the overall bike win and championship title, alongside Mohammed Al Marri taking the car round victory. The event highlighted the growing popularity of off-road motorsport in the region.

The sixth and final round, held on December 7th, featured 22 motorcycles and 13 cars navigating the demanding desert terrain of Dukhan. McInnes’ consistent performance throughout the season cemented his position at the top, while several other category champions were also crowned, solidifying a year of exciting racing. The QORC consistently draws competitors from across the Gulf region and beyond.

2025 Qatar Off-Road Championship: Season Review and Results

The QORC serves as a crucial platform for developing local talent in off-road racing, according to the QMMF. It also provides a testing ground for vehicles and drivers preparing for larger international events like the Dakar Rally. This year’s competition demonstrated an increasing level of skill and sophistication among participants.

Alex McInnes’ victory in the bike category wasn’t just a win for the round; it marked the culmination of a successful championship run. His strategic riding and ability to maintain speed over varied landscapes were key factors in his success. Additionally, category winners Nasser Al Abdulla, Mohammed Al Kubaisi, and Allan Ramsing turned in impressive performances.

In the car competition, Mohammed Al Marri and Szymon Gospodarczk conquered the Dukhan Baja, demonstrating precision driving and effective teamwork. Their performance underscored the importance of co-driver expertise in navigating complex off-road courses. The pair faced stiff competition from other contenders throughout the race.

Car Category Champions Crowned

The championship trophies weren’t limited to the final round victors. Camelia Liparoti and Erika Mingozzi achieved a dominant season, earning the Class 1 Cars championship title. Their reliability and consistent pace proved decisive in securing the victory.

Nouef Al Sowaidi, paired with Lithuanian co-driver Aisvydas Paliukenas, captured the Class 2 title. They consistently challenged for the lead, ultimately benefitting from a combination of speed and strategic decision-making. This victory highlights the increasing international collaboration within the QORC.

The Class 3 championship went to the Saudi Arabian duo of Motab Al Shammari and Badr Al Hamdan, reflecting the growing regional interest in desert racing. Their win demonstrates the widening geographical scope of competition within the series. The QMMF has actively worked to promote participation from neighboring countries.

The Baja format, characterized by longer distances and more challenging terrain, tested the endurance of both machines and competitors. This final round differed from earlier events in the series, which included more traditional cross-country races. The varied formats throughout the season aimed to provide a comprehensive test of off-road skills.

Off-road motorsport in Qatar has seen significant investment in recent years, leading to improved infrastructure and increased participation. The QMMF continues to prioritize safety and sustainability in organizing these events. This commitment is crucial for attracting both local and international competitors.

Looking ahead, the QMMF is expected to begin planning for the 2026 season in the coming months, with potential adjustments to the race calendar and regulations. The dates for registration and the official schedule are yet to be announced. Observers will be watching to see if the championship continues to expand its reach and attract even more participants in the future, further solidifying Qatar’s position as a hub for motorsport in the Middle East.
