Are you a Dubai resident who has lost or damaged your driving licence? The process of replacing it is now easier than ever with the steps introduced by the Dubai government. You only need to present your Emirates ID and pay a fee of Dh100 if you are younger than 21, or Dh300 if you are 21 or older. Additionally, there is a knowledge and innovation fee of Dh20 that needs to be paid. Your new licence will be valid for the remaining validity period of the lost or damaged permit.

To apply for a replacement, you can do so through the RTA website by entering your Emirates ID, driver’s licence details, or traffic file number. You can also use the RTA app or Mahboub Chatbot for the same purpose. If you prefer not to use these methods, self-service machines are also available for application. Once your application is approved, you will receive a temporary driving licence by email while waiting for the new one. The new licence can be collected from self-service machines or customer happiness centres in Deira or Al Barsha.

If you have an Apple device, you can opt to receive your electronic licence through the Apple Wallet via the RTA Dubai App. Alternatively, you can choose to have your new licence delivered to you. The delivery service comes with a standard fee of Dh20, but if you want same-day delivery, you will need to pay Dh35. For expedited delivery within two hours, the cost is Dh50. If you are outside the UAE at the time of application, you can opt for international delivery by paying Dh50 for the fees.

Gone are the days when applying for a driving licence in Dubai was a daunting task. With the simplified replacement process introduced by the Dubai government, getting a new licence is now hassle-free. By following the easy steps outlined above, you can quickly replace your lost or damaged driving permit and get back on the road in no time. Remember that all you need is your Emirates ID and the required fees to complete the application process, making it convenient for all Dubai residents. Whether you choose to apply online, through the app, or at a self-service machine, the process is straightforward and efficient.

In conclusion, the process of applying for a replacement driving licence in Dubai has been significantly streamlined to provide residents with a more convenient experience. With multiple options available, including online applications, app interfaces, chatbots, and self-service machines, Dubai residents have the flexibility to choose the method that best suits their preferences. Furthermore, the availability of a delivery service for the new licence adds an extra layer of convenience for those who prefer to have it sent directly to their location. Overall, these changes reflect the Dubai government’s commitment to enhancing customer service and simplifying bureaucratic procedures.
