Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Doha, Qatar, has announced the relocation of its Pediatric Emergency Centre (PEC) from PHCC Al Daayen to Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital starting from September 8, 2024. The PEC was initially established in 2011 to provide pediatric emergency care to the local community in the northern region of Qatar, with the aim of catering to the growing demand for pediatric services.

In 2023, the PEC at Al Daayen treated nearly 58,000 patients, highlighting the need to expand services to continue to meet the healthcare needs of the community. The decision to move the PEC to Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital, which was opened in 2022, will provide access to state-of-the-art facilities, specialized medical expertise, and resources. This relocation will ultimately improve access to high-quality pediatric care and streamline the care process for patients seeking emergency medical treatment.

Dr. Mohammed Alamri, Chairman of Pediatric Departments at HMC and Director of PEC, emphasized that the relocation is part of the organization’s commitment to enhancing patient care and providing a more integrated healthcare experience for all patients. The goal is to create a more effective and patient-centered healthcare environment that prioritizes excellence in care delivery and positive outcomes for pediatric patients in need of emergency medical attention.

Dr. Ibrahim Fawzy, Medical Director and Acting CEO of Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital, expressed that the transfer of pediatric services to the hospital signifies a significant advancement in pediatric healthcare delivery. The move aims to enhance patient outcomes, advance medical excellence, and ensure that pediatric emergency services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to children aged 0-14 years old with emergency medical conditions.

The relocation of the Pediatric Emergency Centre to Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital highlights HMC’s commitment to improving and expanding pediatric healthcare services in Qatar. By leveraging the hospital’s modern facilities and specialized medical expertise, the organization aims to provide a higher level of care and ensure that pediatric patients receive timely and comprehensive emergency medical treatment.

Overall, the transfer of the Pediatric Emergency Centre to Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital aligns with HMC’s mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services and prioritize patient-centered care. This strategic move will not only improve access to high-quality pediatric care but also enhance the overall healthcare experience for pediatric patients and their families in Qatar’s northern region.

In conclusion, the relocation of the Pediatric Emergency Centre to Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital represents a significant step forward in advancing pediatric healthcare delivery in Qatar. By combining state-of-the-art facilities with specialized medical expertise, HMC aims to provide a more integrated, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare environment for pediatric patients in need of emergency medical treatment.
