The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Doha, Qatar, recently announced the results of the first round of secondary school exams for the 2023/2024 academic year. The pass rates for different tracks and types of education varied, with the scientific track achieving an 85.52 percent pass rate for daytime education and a 20.45 percent pass rate for adult education. The literature and humanities track had a pass rate of 79.64 percent for daytime education and 42.21 percent for adult education. The technological track saw a pass rate of 75.47 percent for daytime education, with some schools achieving a 100 percent pass rate.

Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys achieved a perfect pass rate, while Qatar Technical Secondary Schools had an 84.14 percent pass rate for daytime students and 11.76 percent for adult education. Qatar Banking and Business Administration Secondary Schools also achieved a 100 percent pass rate for daytime students, with lower pass rates for audio education schools and the parallel track for adult education. Over 13,000 students took the exams, with over 8,000 achieving a 70 percent pass rate, qualifying them for university admission.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Evaluation Affairs at the Ministry, Khaled Al Harqan, presented the exam results and congratulated the successful students and schools that achieved high levels of excellence. He noted that the results were close to previous years, with improved percentages for both male and female students. Al Harqan emphasized the efficiency and strength of public schools, as well as the opportunities for students who did not pass to join universities inside and outside Qatar.

The Ministry revealed that over 3,800 students will sit for the second round of exams in August. The Director of Student Assessment Department discussed the process of correcting and reviewing exam papers at 79 centers and schools, ensuring fair and accurate results. The Director of Public Relations and Communication congratulated successful students and encouraged those who did not pass to take advantage of the second round of exams. She also thanked school administrations, teachers, and parents for their role in achieving the results for the academic year.

Overall, the results of the secondary school exams in Qatar for the 2023/2024 academic year reflect the hard work and dedication of students, teachers, and school administrators. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education is committed to providing opportunities for all students to succeed and continue their academic and professional journeys. The high pass rates in various tracks and types of education demonstrate the quality of education in Qatar and the potential for students to excel in their chosen fields. The upcoming second round of exams will provide additional opportunities for students to achieve their goals and pursue higher education options.
