The Bahrain Digital Content Award 2023 recognized three government applications developed by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) in collaboration with other government entities. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ali Bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of Shura Council, and organized by Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) and Worksmart For Events Management in collaboration with the World Summit Awards (WSA). iGA’s Deputy Chief Executive for Electronic Transformation Dr. Zakareya Ahmed Al Khaja received the awards on behalf of the organization. The winning apps included Tawasul in the ‘Government & Citizen Engagement’ category, Al-Tajir in the ‘Business & Commerce’ category, and Sehati in the ‘Health & Wellbeing’ category.

iGA Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, expressed his pride in the success of the digital projects and highlighted the support provided by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in enhancing government services for citizens and residents. Al Qaed commended the efforts of iGA teams in collaboration with other government entities in the development of the award-winning apps. Tawasul, in particular, was recognized for facilitating communication between citizens, residents, and government entities, prioritizing user feedback. The award adds to the app’s existing accolades, including the Customer Service Excellence Award and the Smart Cities 2023 Award.

The Sehati app was also commended for its achievement in the ‘Health & Wellbeing’ category. Al Qaed expressed his gratitude to key healthcare sector stakeholders for their cooperation in the digital transformation of healthcare services. The app was acknowledged for its quality healthcare services and user-friendly interface that improve access to healthcare and save time for users. Additionally, the Al-Tajir app’s win in the ‘Business & Commerce’ category was celebrated for its role in enhancing Bahrain’s technological infrastructure, streamlining digital services in the business sector, and attracting investments to advance the national economy.

Al Qaed extended his appreciation to government entities for their support in implementing digital systems and projects across various sectors. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to adopt advanced technologies and improve services to enhance the ICT sector in the Kingdom. The Bahrain Digital Content Award, launched in 2005, aims to showcase Bahrain’s advancement in digital content, ICT, and global digitalization trends. The award highlights innovative solutions for the development of digital content across government and private institutions, fostering creativity and sustainability in the digital landscape. Through recognition of digital initiatives like the award-winning apps developed by iGA, Bahrain continues to make strides in digital transformation and innovation.
