Desalination Plant Contract Worth BD65 Million Awarded

The Bahrain Tender Board recently awarded contracts for 13 major tenders across various government entities, with a total of 158 bids received from both local and international companies. The lowest bids totaled approximately 66.5 million Bahraini dinars, showcasing a competitive bidding process. The Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) was awarded five tenders, with the most significant being the rehabilitation of the Ras Abu Jarjur Desalination Plant. This project received a single bid of 64.9 million Bahraini dinars from Tecton Engineering and Construction for its reverse osmosis rehabilitation.

Additionally, the EWA awarded tenders for the construction, ownership, and operation of the Sitra Independent Power and Water Plant and the Al Hidd Independent Water Plant. These projects attracted nine and seven bidders respectively, highlighting the interest and competition in the region. Another EWA tender for the comprehensive maintenance of the Hawar Water Tank saw the lowest bid of 189,377 Bahraini dinars from Sayed Kadhem Aldurazi and Sons Group, further highlighting the diverse range of contractors involved in the process.

The Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company also awarded a contract for the replacement of the oily wastewater drainage system at the Central Gas Plant No. 2 (Phase 1), with the lowest bid of 89,682 Bahraini dinars submitted by Ramsis Engineering Co. W.L.L. The Northern Governorate Municipality awarded a tender for the development of a high-level walkway, with the lowest bid of 174,398 Bahraini dinars coming from Gulf Fencing & Specialist Surfacing Est. W.L.L. This showcases the variety of projects and services being implemented across different government entities in Bahrain.

Furthermore, Bapco awarded a contract for the purchase of replacement motors for obsolete high-voltage motors in its low-sulfur fuel oil complex. Green Tech Middle East Consultancy W.L.L. submitted the lowest bid of 500,857 Bahraini dinars, demonstrating the importance of sustainability and maintenance in the oil and gas industry. The Ministry of Information also awarded two tenders – one for switchboard operators and drivers, with Magic Shine Cleaning Services Bahrain submitting the lowest bid of 63,756 Bahraini dinars, and another for vehicle rental services, where Transportation & Construction for Esky for Construction and Transportation submitted the lowest bid of 91,634 Bahraini dinars.

Finally, the Ministry of Education awarded a tender for the provision of Microsoft 365 licenses for the Abdullah bin Khalid Islamic Studies College, with Alam Al Ettisal Co. W.L.L. submitting the lowest bid of 15,096 Bahraini dinars. This emphasizes the importance of technology and educational resources in the region, showcasing the government’s commitment to providing quality services and infrastructure. Overall, the tender process in Bahrain highlights a competitive and transparent system that encourages both local and international companies to participate in various projects across different sectors.
