The Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) has recently signed the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), established by United Nations (UN) Women and UN Global Compact. This move showcases DANAT’s commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women in various aspects of society. The seven principles of WEPs focus on corporate leadership on gender equality, fair treatment of employees, employee health and safety, education and training for career advancement, responsible project development, community engagement, and measurement and reporting. By adopting these principles, DANAT highlights the importance of gender equality in achieving business success and societal progress.

Noora Jamsheer, CEO of DANAT Institute, expressed her belief that the Women’s Empowerment Principles are in line with DANAT’s values and goals. She pointed out that Bahrain has been actively working towards empowering women through initiatives led by the Supreme Council for Women. Jamsheer emphasized the importance of recognizing women’s contributions to both social and economic spheres. By endorsing the WEPs, DANAT is furthering its commitment to supporting and empowering women in the workplace and beyond.

The integration of the Women’s Empowerment Principles by DANAT reflects the company’s acknowledgment of the vital role that businesses play in championing gender equality. By committing to these principles, DANAT is actively contributing to creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace for its employees. The principles not only focus on internal practices within the organization but also extend to community engagement and advocacy, highlighting the broader impact of gender equality initiatives beyond the company’s boundaries.

DANAT’s endorsement of the Women’s Empowerment Principles aligns with Bahrain’s efforts to promote gender equality and empower women in various sectors. The commitment to these principles demonstrates DANAT’s commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for women to thrive and succeed. By fostering a workplace culture that values diversity and inclusion, DANAT is setting an example for other organizations to follow suit in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. This move by DANAT showcases the company’s dedication to social responsibility and sustainable business practices.

As part of its dedication to fostering gender equality, DANAT recognizes the importance of providing education and training for career advancement for all employees, regardless of gender. By prioritizing employee health, well-being, and safety, DANAT is creating a conducive work environment where women can excel and thrive. The principles of WEPs emphasize the significance of fair treatment of employees without discrimination, a value that DANAT upholds in its operations. Rather than just focusing on internal practices, DANAT is also committed to responsible project and supply chain development, ensuring that gender equality is integrated across all aspects of its business.

In conclusion, DANAT’s endorsement of the Women’s Empowerment Principles is a significant step towards promoting gender equality and empowering women in Bahrain and beyond. By aligning with these principles, DANAT is showcasing its commitment to creating a more inclusive workplace culture that values and supports women’s contributions. This move not only benefits DANAT’s employees but also contributes to the broader goal of achieving gender equality in society. DANAT’s proactive approach to gender equality sets a positive example for other organizations to follow and emphasizes the importance of businesses being active advocates for women’s empowerment. Through its endorsement of the WEPs, DANAT is working towards creating a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
