Bahrain urges for stronger economic relationships at Marrakech Parliamentary Forum

At the Marrakech Parliamentary Economic Forum, Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam of the Council of Representatives led a parliamentary delegation from Bahrain. During his address, he praised the strong bilateral relations between Bahrain and Morocco, extending congratulations to Morocco on the upcoming anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s accession. He also highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to environmental sustainability and climate goals, including targets such as a 30% reduction in emissions by 2035 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2060. Speaker Ahmed bin Salman emphasized Bahrain’s support for entrepreneurship, especially in the development of small and medium enterprises, as a key component of its Economic Vision 2030.

Furthermore, the Speaker mentioned Bahrain’s improved ranking in the 2024 World Competitiveness Index, showcasing the Kingdom’s progress in creating an attractive investment climate and fostering strong public-private partnerships. At the Marrakech forum, he advocated for support of Bahrain’s proposal for an international peace conference, which was recently announced at the 33rd Arab Summit. He highlighted the forum’s importance as a platform for political dialogue and collaboration, stressing the potential of the Mediterranean and Gulf regions in terms of natural and human resources. Speaker Ahmed bin Salman also emphasized the need for enhanced economic parliamentary diplomacy to achieve sustainable economic solutions and build strategic partnerships, specifically pointing out the importance of accelerating clean hydrogen production for long-term energy security.

In conclusion, Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam’s presence at the Marrakech Parliamentary Economic Forum showcased Bahrain’s commitment to environmental sustainability, economic development, and international cooperation. His address highlighted Bahrain’s ambitious climate goals and its support for entrepreneurship as key elements of its Economic Vision 2030.
