Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being recognized as a transformative tool in the field of education. The CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, emphasized the potential of AI in revolutionizing the teaching and learning process. By utilizing AI technologies, the Polytechnic can provide innovative education that caters to diverse student needs, enhances collaboration, and offers valuable insights into student performance. The recent symposium organized by the Polytechnic, titled “Learning for All: Artificial Intelligence for Student Success,” brought together academics, industry leaders, and experts to discuss the role of AI in education.

The symposium highlighted the importance of leveraging AI technologies to enhance education and training. Professor Ó Catháin expressed his commitment to transforming Bahrain Polytechnic into a ‘Polytechnic for All’ by harnessing AI’s potential to improve learning outcomes and create engaging learning environments. The event also featured experts from Ireland, the United States, and India who shared their experiences with AI in education. Additionally, the conference offered six creative applied labs to promote innovation in education and facilitate the exchange of ideas and insights.

Bahrain Polytechnic is at the forefront of integrating AI advancements into its curriculum. The institution is dedicated to providing educators with the necessary training to prioritize the learner and enhance the quality of education. The symposium addressed various topics related to the use of AI in education, including implementing industrial projects, formulating peer feedback, and ethical considerations in AI-supported assessment. The event aimed to empower educators with the tools and knowledge needed to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes through AI technologies.

The symposium also focused on the role of AI in enhancing classroom participation and providing effective assessments. Conversational AI teachers, AI-supported learning tools, and platforms for adaptive learning were among the key topics discussed. By implementing problem-solving-based practical learning approaches, educators can leverage AI technologies to improve student engagement and foster a more interactive learning environment. The event emphasized the importance of ethical considerations in the use of AI for assessment and highlighted the potential of AI to revolutionize the teaching and learning process.

Bahrain Polytechnic’s commitment to leveraging AI for education reflects a broader trend in the field of education towards adopting innovative technologies to enhance student experiences. By integrating AI into the teaching and learning process, institutions can create more personalized and engaging learning environments. The symposium served as a platform for educators, industry leaders, and experts to share best practices and insights on the effective use of AI in education. As AI continues to evolve, its impact on education is expected to be significant, transforming the way teaching and learning are conducted and improving student outcomes in the process.
