One victim, Brejesh Rajan, fell victim to a vishing attack after receiving a call from a woman claiming to be from the UAE ICP during the renewal process of his Emirates ID. Despite the caller having all his official information and details, Rajan unknowingly provided sensitive information and lost money in the process.
Scammers are resorting to high-pressure tactics to coerce individuals into divulging information quickly. Victims have reported receiving aggressive calls demanding OTP confirmation or personal information. The scammers use fear tactics to expedite the process and prevent individuals from questioning the authenticity of the request. Even those who have not installed the UAE Pass app are being targeted, showcasing the sophistication and persistence of these fraudulent activities.

Users are advised to exercise caution when receiving OTPs or login requests related to the app and refrain from sharing sensitive details.
