The Qatari Al Gannas Association recently wrapped up its participation in the Larache International Festival of Culture, Arts, and Heritage in Morocco. This prestigious festival, which ran from July 25-30, focused on the importance of folk arts as a cultural heritage and a foundation for development. The Al Gannas Association has been a key participant in the festival for eleven consecutive years, showcasing Qatar’s rich cultural traditions and heritage alongside other Arab, African, and Asian cultures.

Led by President Ali bin Khatam Al Mahshadi, the Qatari delegation at the Larache Festival included Vice President Mohammed bin Abdul Latif Al Misnad, Secretary Zayed Mohammed Al Ali Al Maadeed, and other officials from the association. They played a pivotal role in supervising and organizing competitions such as the Saluki race, shotgun shooting, archery, and visual arts, all of which garnered significant interest from the public. The winners were honored by the President of the Al Gannas Association, his Vice President, and officials from the Abdel Samad Al Kanfawi association for Moroccan culture, heritage, and arts.

On the first day of the festival, the Al Gannas Association made a notable impact with its participation, drawing attention to the diverse segments of the event and showcasing elements of Morocco’s rich heritage. President Ali bin Khatam Al Mahshadi expressed gratitude to the organizers of the festival, specifically the Abdel Samad Al Kanfawi association, for extending a warm invitation to Qatar to participate. He also congratulated the winners of the various competitions, highlighting the spirit of camaraderie and cultural exchange that defined the festival.

The Larache International Festival of Culture, Arts, and Heritage serves as a platform for promoting cross-cultural understanding and appreciation for diverse traditions. By participating in this event, the Al Gannas Association reinforced Qatar’s commitment to preserving and celebrating its unique cultural heritage while fostering relationships with other nations in the Arab, African, and Asian regions. The festival’s theme of folk arts as a cultural heritage and a driver of development resonates with the association’s mission to uphold traditional practices in a contemporary context.

Through its involvement in the Larache Festival, the Al Gannas Association showcased Qatar’s expertise in traditional activities such as the Saluki race, in addition to highlighting modern disciplines like visual arts. This fusion of old and new reflects the association’s dedication to preserving heritage while embracing innovation. By engaging with international audiences and local communities at the festival, the association reinforced the significance of cultural exchange and mutual respect for diverse artistic expressions.

In conclusion, the Al Gannas Association’s participation in the Larache International Festival of Culture, Arts, and Heritage underscores Qatar’s commitment to promoting cultural diplomacy and fostering relationships with countries around the world. Through its active involvement in showcasing traditional practices and modern artistic expressions, the association has contributed to the festival’s goal of celebrating the diversity of global heritage.
