Al Balooshi, Megre and Prata engage in intense three-way competition for Bajas World Cup in Qatar

The FIM Bajas World Cup is in full swing, with Mohammed Al Balooshi from MX Ride Dubai battling it out with Portuguese riders David Megre and Pedro Bianchi Prata for the top spot. The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation is hosting the fifth round of the series, with 62 motorcycle riders and five quads set to compete. Al Balooshi and Megre are currently tied on points, with Prata not far behind. The event in Qatar is just one of the four rounds left in the series.

With some competitors missing from the Qatar event, including Martim Ventura and Bruno Santos, other riders like Abdullah Al Shatti, Abdulhalim Al Mogheera, and Rafic Eid have a chance to move up in the standings. In the Junior category, Poland’s Filip Grot is leading with a comfortable margin. Prata is a strong contender for the Veteran category, with Eid also vying for honors. The quad section has been dominated by Saudi Arabian riders, with Haitham Al Tuwaijri leading the pack.

A diverse field of riders from various countries, including the UAE, Poland, Lebanon, Great Britain, Saudi Arabia, and more, are set to compete at the Qatar International Baja. Notable names like Isle of Man TT legend James Hillier, Australian Martin Chalmers, and the Irish trio of O’Kelly and Stafford will be participating. The event is being organized by the QMMF and is set to kick off with a timed Prologue stage.

The latest positions in the FIM Bajas World Cup show Al Balooshi and Megre tied for first place in the 450 category, with Prata close behind. Grot leads the Junior category, while Prata dominates in the Veteran category. The Women’s category is led by Sara García Alvarez, with Joanna Modrzewska not far behind. The quad category sees Al Tuwaijri leading the standings, followed closely by Al Shayban.

With a competitive field of riders from around the world, the Qatar International Baja promises thrilling action and fierce competition. Fans can expect to see top riders battle it out for victory across various categories, showcasing their skills and determination in the challenging desert terrain of Qatar.
