The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued a warning about SHTINE bottled water, produced by Yanabi Najd Manufacturing Company, due to high levels of bromate exceeding permissible limits. The warning includes all sizes, batch numbers, and production and expiration dates of the product. Consumers are urged to avoid consuming SHTINE water and properly dispose of any remaining bottles to prevent health risks.

The SFDA has taken action to ensure the withdrawal of all SHTINE products from the local market and the suspension of production. Tests conducted on samples of the drinking water revealed that the bromate levels exceeded the maximum permissible concentration of 10 parts per billion, as set by Saudi Gulf Technical Regulation No. 1025. This poses potential health risks to consumers, prompting the SFDA to prioritize public health by enforcing regulations and monitoring drinking water facilities.

The SFDA’s commitment to public health includes ongoing monitoring of drinking water facilities, inspections of products in local markets, and enforcement of regulations to ensure the safety and quality of products. By issuing warnings and taking swift action against non-compliant products like SHTINE water, the SFDA aims to protect consumers from potential health hazards. It is crucial for consumers to be aware of such warnings and heed the advice to avoid consuming the affected product.

Consumers should pay attention to warnings issued by regulatory authorities like the SFDA to safeguard their health. Proper disposal of any recalled products like SHTINE water is essential to prevent further health risks. The SFDA’s efforts to enforce regulations and monitor the safety of drinking water facilities demonstrate their dedication to ensuring product quality and public health. It is important for manufacturers and authorities to work together to maintain trust and consumer confidence in the safety of food and beverage products.
