Mosque construction and maintenance are important aspects of the Muslim community, and many faithful individuals across the globe contribute towards building mosques in their own countries as well as in third-world nations. In the UAE, while many mosques are built by the government, there are opportunities for community members to donate towards the construction and maintenance of mosques. The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (Awqaf) in the UAE offers services for individuals looking to contribute towards mosque construction and maintenance.

The Awqaf extends its services to individuals building mosques in all emirates except Dubai. The maintenance services include financing for facilities, building maintenance, air-conditioning, furniture, and other supplies. The process of donating towards mosque construction or maintenance can be accessed online through the authority’s website or mobile application. Individuals can make payments through bank transfer/deposit, one-time payment, or cheque, and choose from different cities and areas in the selected emirate.

For residents in Dubai, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department under the Government of Dubai offers services to identify plots of land for mosque construction and allows individuals to donate in-kind items like carpets, air conditioners, water coolers, and outdoor tents. The process can be accessed online through the department’s website and mobile applications, and donations can be made with the individual’s Emirates ID. It takes up to one day to review requests for mosque construction contributions and up to three days for in-kind donations.

Dar Al Ber is another platform that allows individuals to donate or sponsor the construction of entire mosques in the UAE, and contributions can be made online. Beit Al Khair is another platform that facilitates donations towards the care and maintenance of mosques, including amenities like air conditioning and furniture. Donations can be made through bank transfer, charity kiosk, and SMS donation, and individuals can contribute any amount they wish.

Overall, contributing towards mosque construction and maintenance is a noble act of goodness in the Muslim community, and individuals in the UAE have various options to donate towards these causes. By leveraging the services provided by organizations like the Awqaf, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, Dar Al Ber, and Beit Al Khair, individuals can play a significant role in supporting the establishment and upkeep of mosques in the country. Stay informed and connected to the latest news and opportunities for mosque donations in the UAE to make a positive impact in the community.
