In the digital age, content creators, influencers, and celebrities are increasingly becoming targets of hackers who use sophisticated tools like AI to extort payments or take down copyright-protected content. Recently, an Indian artist faced a copyright strike after using a song without proper rights, leading to ransom demands in bitcoin. Additionally, an Arab travel and food blogger had his account hacked using AI to target videos with brand logos, resulting in a loss of almost one million followers. Dubai-based cybersecurity expert Rayad Kamal Ayub highlighted the increasing trend of hackers using AI and deep fake cloning to target social media accounts in the Middle East.

Ayub emphasized the importance of reporting any copyright infringement immediately to prevent further damage. He also advised influencers and celebrities to register their copyright and seek legal advice to protect their intellectual property. Mustafa Zahid, a popular Pakistani artist, urged his peers to take immediate action against infringement based on his own experience. Ayub further suggested partnering with copyright protection agencies and monitoring online platforms for unauthorized use of copyrighted material. Taking preventive measures like watermarking images, adding metadata, and educating followers on copyright laws can also help protect content creators from infringement.

To combat copyright violations, Ayub recommended issuing DMCA takedown notices to platforms hosting the infringed content. He emphasized the significance of copyright protection in the digital era and urged influencers and companies to prioritize it as part of their digital success. By understanding and respecting copyright laws, creators can ensure the integrity and originality of their work in the digital space. Any copyright infringement can be reported to platforms like Meta and YouTube for prompt action. In conclusion, maintaining vigilance, seeking legal advice, and implementing preventive measures are essential for protecting intellectual property in the online realm.
