His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik recently met with business owners, small and medium enterprises, and start-up companies at Al Barakah Palace in Muscat. At the meeting, His Majesty praised God for the growth and stability that Oman has experienced, and discussed the positive financial and economic performance of the state. The partnership between the government and the private sector has been highlighted as a key factor in Oman’s economic success, leading to increased GDP growth and improved credit ratings. His Majesty expressed his commitment to strengthening this partnership and ensuring the provision of a supportive environment for investments and economic development.

Emphasizing the importance of maintaining open communication between the public and private sectors, His Majesty Sultan Haitham mentioned the regular meetings held with businessmen and investors to discuss challenges and propose solutions. He also stressed the significance of the small and medium enterprises sector in driving economic growth and shaping the business environment. His Majesty directed the Omani banking sector to align with global banking and financial policies that support business activities and stimulate economic growth in the country.

Furthermore, His Majesty highlighted the National Policy for Local Content, aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy and promoting growth. The private sector was urged to support this policy by prioritizing the use of local products in their purchases and tenders, thereby creating job opportunities for citizens, reducing reliance on imports, increasing exports, and improving the quality of locally manufactured products. This strategy aims to modernize Omani products and enable them to compete effectively in global markets.

The Sultan’s emphasis on developing a supportive investment environment and promoting the local economy reflects his commitment to sustainable economic growth and prosperity in Oman. By encouraging the private sector to contribute to the success of national policies such as the National Policy for Local Content, Sultan Haitham seeks to enhance Oman’s economic competitiveness and reduce its dependence on external markets. This approach aligns with global best practices and positions Oman as an attractive destination for investors and businesses looking to capitalize on the nation’s economic potential.

In conclusion, His Majesty Sultan Haitham’s meeting with business owners and entrepreneurs underscores his dedication to fostering a strong partnership between the government and the private sector. By discussing key economic issues, challenges, and opportunities for growth, His Majesty demonstrates his commitment to creating a conducive environment for investment and economic development in Oman. The Sultan’s focus on enhancing the local content policy and promoting the use of domestic products further supports his vision for a thriving Omani economy that is competitive on a global scale.
