The Shura Council in Bahrain has recently made significant strides in parliamentary diplomacy during the 2nd Convening Period of the 6th legislative term. By actively participating in various international forums, conferences, seminars, and meetings, the Council has taken part in a total of 63 external events, both in-person and virtually. The discussions in these engagements covered a wide range of important global issues, including human rights, sustainable development, defense, national security, diplomatic affairs, family care, health services, economic and financial matters, technological advancement, energy investment, environmental preservation, and tourism. This demonstrates the Council’s commitment to addressing a diverse set of topics and strengthening its international influence within the legislative realm.

Through its interactions on the global stage, the Shura Council has been able to enhance its international standing and impact, leading to several members achieving leadership roles in regional and international parliamentary bodies. One such accomplishment is the appointment of Mr. Jamal Fakhro, the First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, as a member of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM PN). This recognition highlights the Council’s dedication to expanding its reach and influence beyond national borders, further solidifying Bahrain’s presence in the international arena.

The Council’s proactive approach to parliamentary diplomacy reflects its commitment to engaging with the global community on a wide range of pressing issues. By participating in a diverse array of events and discussions, the Shura Council has been able to showcase Bahrain’s perspective on key global challenges and contribute to shaping international dialogues surrounding these topics. This engagement not only benefits Bahrain’s standing within the global community but also allows the Council to learn from and collaborate with other nations on shared priorities and initiatives.

The Shura Council’s emphasis on diplomatic engagement has not gone unnoticed, with its efforts leading to tangible results in terms of leadership opportunities and international recognition. By actively participating in external events and forums, the Council has been able to raise Bahrain’s profile and further its diplomatic objectives on the world stage. Through these interactions, the Council has demonstrated its commitment to promoting peace, stability, and cooperation on a global scale, while also advocating for the interests and priorities of the Bahraini people.

Overall, the Shura Council’s active involvement in parliamentary diplomacy has proven to be a valuable asset in advancing Bahrain’s interests and enhancing the country’s international reputation. By engaging with a wide range of global issues and participating in various international events, the Council has been able to showcase Bahrain’s perspectives and priorities, while also establishing meaningful connections with other nations and parliamentary bodies. This commitment to diplomatic engagement has not only strengthened Bahrain’s presence on the world stage but has also reinforced the Council’s role as a vital player in shaping international discourse and cooperation on critical global challenges.
