QNA wraps up training program on monitoring and analyzing social media

Qatar News Agency (QNA) recently concluded a training course focused on monitoring and analyzing social media. The course, which took place over five days at the agency’s headquarters, aimed to enhance the skills of national media personnel in specialized media and journalism fields. Participants were given the opportunity to strengthen their abilities in monitoring and analysis, as well as learn fundamental principles relevant to real-world applications.

Throughout the course, participants delved into various key topics, including an introduction to the concept and importance of social media, understanding the overall objective of the training, the significance of monitoring and analysis, the scope of monitoring processes, monitoring methods and mechanisms, identifying issues relevant to monitoring, and practical applications in the field. With a focus on essential skills for monitors, journalistic editing for monitored content, understanding the editorial direction of news organizations, and verifying news and misleading sources, attendees were able to gain valuable insights into the world of media monitoring.

One of the highlights of the course was the opportunity for participants to work on final projects related to social media monitoring and analysis. These projects were presented and discussed during the closing session, allowing participants to showcase the knowledge and skills they had acquired throughout the training. The course also provided general guidelines for media monitoring, including skills in punctuation placement, proofreading, and archiving monitored content, giving attendees a comprehensive understanding of the monitoring and analysis process.
