Qatar National Library is starting off the New Year with a series of exciting events and workshops aimed at inspiring and empowering students, families, and young professionals in Doha, Qatar. The activities include children puppet shows organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture’s Theater Affairs Center, mentorship programs for university applications and career planning, photography workshops, and sessions on literacy essentials and citation management.

The library is also hosting sessions on fact-checking, effective web search techniques, and the role of AI tools in education. Additionally, Dr. Naif Al Mutawa, a Kuwaiti clinical psychologist and creator of the comic series The 99, will lead a special discussion on the scientific foundations of comic book creation. Music lovers can enjoy an evening of French music by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, featuring a trio of flute, harp, and strings.

One of the highlights of the month is the monthly Book Club for the Blind discussion session on the Arabic audiobook “Letting Go” by Dr. David Hawkins. This audiobook, available for download through the library’s electronic resources, offers a simple yet effective mechanism for releasing negative emotions and achieving inner peace. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and reflection on the book’s content.

The library’s mentorship program aims to provide students with guidance on university applications, scholarships, and career planning. Participants will have the chance to connect with leading professionals and thought leaders in Qatar through mentoring sessions scheduled for January 11, 18, and 28. Additionally, photography enthusiasts can enhance their skills with a hands-on session covering key techniques such as camera settings, lenses, lighting, and composition.

The sessions on fact-checking and effective web search techniques are designed to help participants develop essential skills for navigating and evaluating information online. The Science Book Forum will explore the role of AI tools in education, providing insights on personalizing AI applications to enhance studies. The session on French music by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra promises to be a delightful experience for music lovers, offering a glimpse into the heart of French culture and artistry.

Overall, Qatar National Library’s lineup of events and workshops for January is diverse and engaging, catering to a wide range of interests and ages. From children’s puppet shows to mentorship programs and discussions with renowned professionals, the library is creating a dynamic and inspiring environment for learning and growth. Whether you are looking to enhance your photography skills, learn about the role of AI in education, or simply enjoy a night of French music, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the library this month.
