Doha, Qatar – The FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025 is set to take place at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium on December 10, 13, and 17, organizers announced today. This prestigious club competition will be held during rest days of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, demonstrating Qatar’s continued capacity to host major international football events. The tournament features top clubs from around the globe, including Paris Saint-Germain, and aims to further elevate the sport’s profile in the region.

Qatar Prepares to Host the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) confirmed its full readiness to welcome teams and fans for the three-match tournament. According to the LOC, the event builds on Qatar’s successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and showcases the nation’s operational expertise in managing large-scale sporting competitions. The decision to stage the Intercontinental Cup alongside the Arab Cup highlights a strategic approach to maximizing infrastructure utilization and attracting a diverse audience.

Hassan Al Kuwari, LOC Executive Director of Marketing, Promotion and Commercial, emphasized Qatar’s commitment to football development at all levels. He stated that hosting these tournaments strengthens regional competition, unites the Arab world, and supports young talent. This event is seen as a key component of Qatar’s broader sports strategy.

Tournament Schedule and Participating Teams

The competition begins with the FIFA Derby of the Americas Qatar 2025 on December 10th, pitting Cruz Azul (Mexico) against CR Flamengo (Brazil). The winner of this match will then advance to face Pyramids FC (Egypt) in the FIFA Challenger Cup Qatar 2025 on December 13th. The final match, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Final Qatar 2025, on December 17th will see Paris Saint-Germain compete against the victor of the Challenger Cup.

Roberto Grassi, FIFA Tournament Lead, reaffirmed the strong partnership between FIFA and Qatar. He praised Qatar’s world-class infrastructure and its ability to consistently deliver exceptional tournaments. This collaboration is expected to continue with future events, solidifying Qatar’s position as a leading sports hub.

Transportation for attendees will be streamlined, with free access to the Doha Metro for ticketholders attending the December 17th final. The metro will provide convenient access to Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium via the Al Riffa Metro Station (Green Line) throughout the competition. This initiative aims to enhance the fan experience and reduce traffic congestion.

Organizers are also encouraging visitors to explore Qatar’s cultural and entertainment offerings during their stay. Beyond the football matches, Doha provides a range of attractions, including museums, historical sites, and vibrant markets. This focus on tourism aims to broaden the appeal of the events and showcase the country’s hospitality.

Tickets for the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025 are available for purchase at www.roadtoqatar.qa. All tickets are digital, and accessible seating options are available for disabled fans upon request via email at [email protected]. A maximum of six tickets can be purchased per person per match. Fans are advised to download the Road to Qatar app to access their tickets.

The success of these tournaments will likely influence future bids for major sporting events in the region. Qatar’s ability to manage multiple competitions simultaneously and provide a positive experience for players and fans is being closely watched by other nations hoping to attract similar events. Further details regarding fan zones and related activities are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, and the logistical challenges of hosting concurrent tournaments will continue to be assessed.
