A multilateral meeting is set to take place this Thursday between the National Programme for Fiscal Sustainability and Financial Sector Development “Estidamah” and the US-based State Street Corporation. The meeting is intended to discuss and explore investment opportunities across various sectors as part of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two entities. Representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Tax Authority, Oman Investment Authority, Central Bank of Oman, and Financial Services Authority will be in attendance, along with representatives from several Omani companies.

State Street will be represented by the CEO and Regional Office Director for Oman, with additional participants joining via video conference including entrepreneurs, investors, and investment fund managers. The meeting aims to review key achievements in the financial sector and highlight Estidamah’s plan for financial sector development, with a focus on green financing and capital market initiatives. Investment opportunities in sectors such as hydrogen and space will also be discussed, with the goal of attracting foreign investments to drive economic growth.

The strategic partnership between Estidamah and State Street is expected to enhance the financial sector’s competitiveness through sustainable green financing and human capital development. Additionally, the collaboration seeks to promote innovative financial technology solutions and provide joint training programmes to equip national cadres with the necessary knowledge and skills. By working together, the two entities aim to bolster Oman’s financial sector and strengthen collaboration with investors and stakeholders.

The meeting represents a significant step towards innovating and developing Oman’s financial sector, with a clear focus on enhancing collaboration with international partners and attracting foreign investments. Through collaboration with State Street, Estidamah aims to drive economic growth and promote innovative financial technology solutions to further establish Oman as a key player in the global financial market.

As the meeting approaches, officials and specialists from various key Omani institutions, along with representatives from local companies, are gearing up to participate in discussions surrounding investment opportunities and financial sector development. With a focus on green financing, capital market initiatives, and key sectors such as hydrogen and space, the meeting will serve as a platform to showcase Oman’s potential for growth and innovation in the financial sector.

Overall, the strategic partnership between Estidamah and State Street is poised to bring about positive change in Oman’s financial sector, driving sustainable growth, attracting foreign investments, and equipping national cadres with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in a rapidly evolving financial landscape. The upcoming meeting will serve as a key milestone in the ongoing collaboration between the two entities, paving the way for further innovation and development in Oman’s financial sector.
