A push to localize jobs in Bahrain is gaining momentum as MPs propose a plan to Bahrainize various professions such as engineering, security, and accounting. The goal is to replace expat workers with local graduates who are deemed to be well-equipped with the necessary qualifications and experience for these roles. According to the proposal, Bahrain’s Constitution guarantees citizens the right to work, making it essential to prioritize Bahraini graduates in the job market, especially during current economic pressures.

The proposal is based on Article 68 of the Constitution, which gives MPs the authority to make formal requests to the government, as well as Articles 127 and 128 of the Council of Representatives’ internal regulations. The focus is on shifting employment practices to ensure that Bahraini talent is at the forefront of the nation’s workforce. The MPs argue that Bahraini citizens have the capacity for responsibility and should be given the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities in various fields.

The proposal, addressed to the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, calls for immediate action to address concerns over expat employment potentially hindering the job prospects of Bahrainis. The backing of several MPs indicates growing support for the plan to localize jobs in Bahrain. If the proposal gains traction, it could lead to significant changes in the labor market, with Bahraini citizens taking on professional roles that were traditionally held by expats in the past.

The move to Bahrainize professions is seen as a necessary step to better utilize the skills and expertise of local graduates and reduce reliance on expat workers. By prioritizing Bahraini citizens in the job market, the proposal aims to create more opportunities for locals and improve their prospects for employment. The emphasis on local talent reflects a commitment to supporting the development and advancement of Bahrainis in various sectors of the economy.

It is essential for Bahrain to focus on empowering its citizens and providing them with the tools and opportunities to succeed in their chosen fields. By promoting Bahrainization, the country can foster a more inclusive and sustainable economy that benefits both locals and the overall workforce. The proposal signals a shift towards a more balanced and equitable job market that prioritizes the interests of Bahraini citizens while also addressing the challenges posed by expat employment in the kingdom.

Overall, the push to Bahrainize professions reflects a commitment to advancing the interests of Bahraini citizens and enhancing their participation in the labor market. By promoting the employment of local graduates and professionals, the proposal seeks to create a more diverse and skilled workforce that can drive the kingdom’s economic growth and development. With the support of MPs and government officials, the plan to localize jobs in Bahrain could pave the way for a more sustainable and prosperous future for the country’s workforce and economy.
