With the new school year fast approaching, the Ministry of Communications and Transport in Bahrain has released a detailed list of licensed drivers and companies authorized to provide school transportation services. Parents are being encouraged to prioritize selecting only licensed transportation options to ensure the safety and well-being of their children.
The list, which consists of 498 licenses for school transport services, includes 423 licenses for individual drivers and 75 licenses for companies operating in the transportation sector. This initiative by the Ministry is aimed at regulating the school transport sector and ensuring that safe and reliable services are provided to meet the needs of both schools and parents.
It is crucial for parents to make informed decisions when choosing licensed school transport vehicles to protect their children’s safety and rights. Selecting a licensed vehicle helps build trust between parents and service providers, as it guarantees compliance with the Ministry’s strict safety standards and requirements.
As the demand for school transport services in Bahrain increases, there has been a rise in competition among providers, leading to a focus on online advertising. Bus drivers interviewed by local newspaper Alayam revealed a significant increase in registrations for school transport services since the beginning of August.
Prices for school transport services vary based on factors such as the distance to the school and the grade level, with rates ranging from 15 Bahraini dinars for elementary schools near residential areas to 40 dinars for secondary schools. The competition in the sector has also resulted in a slight decrease in prices, especially with the entry of retired individuals into the industry.
