UAE: Not Losing Weight Despite Daily Workouts? Here’s Why – News

Losing weight can be a frustrating journey, especially when the results don’t match the effort put in. Shuaib Ali, a Sharjah resident, experienced this firsthand when despite consistent gym sessions and a strict exercise regimen, he only managed to lose 6 kilograms in a year. Determined to achieve his weight loss goals, Ali continued his routine even though the results were not as expected.

Despite his persistence, Ali was advised to consult a doctor to understand the underlying issues affecting his weight loss progress. To his surprise, he was diagnosed with thyroid disorders, which explained the lack of significant weight loss despite his efforts. This revelation highlighted the importance of looking beyond just diet and workout routines when struggling to lose weight.

Experts agree that weight loss is not solely dependent on diet and exercise, as there are various physiological and lifestyle factors that can hinder progress. Hormonal imbalances such as insulin resistance or thyroid conditions can significantly impact weight reduction efforts by slowing down metabolism and affecting fat deposition. Medical intervention may be necessary to address these underlying issues for effective weight loss.

Personal trainer and nutritionist Alain Pigoupa emphasizes the importance of making appropriate dietary changes and engaging in physical exercise to facilitate weight loss. He advises against falling for instant results promised by social media posts and instead encourages consistency and dedication to the process. Pigoupa also highlights the significance of understanding one’s body type and age to determine the most effective exercise routine for weight loss.

In addition to exercise and diet modifications, Pigoupa offers practical tips for enhancing the weight loss journey. These include avoiding excessive cardio without adequate food intake, staying active throughout the day to reduce obesity risks, eating a balanced diet, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, and managing stress levels. By focusing on these holistic approaches to weight loss, individuals can overcome obstacles and achieve their desired health and fitness goals.
