The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts has launched its first initiative for the Year of Handicrafts, called the “Wrth Community.” This initiative aims to revive and develop handicrafts by combining them with modern design and technologies, promoting cultural identity, and enhancing cooperation between institutions and the local community. The “Wrth Community” includes various fields such as education, handicrafts, entrepreneurship, and dialogue sessions to exchange experiences, develop skills, and stimulate creativity and innovation.

The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts is a leading entity that focuses on highlighting national identity and enriching Saudi traditional arts both locally and globally. This initiative is part of the Institute’s efforts to raise awareness about traditional crafts, develop them, and spread the culture of traditional arts. It also aims to preserve the origins of traditional arts, support national talents and capabilities, encourage generations to learn and develop these skills, and honor those who excel in the field, promoting living treasures that embody the ancient Saudi heritage.

By integrating traditional crafts with modern design and technology, the “Wrth Community” initiative seeks to bring new life to traditional arts and make them more accessible and relevant in today’s world. By providing a platform for skills development, knowledge exchange, and creative collaboration, the initiative aims to create a vibrant community of artisans, designers, and entrepreneurs who can work together to enrich Saudi Arabia’s cultural landscape.

The “Wrth Community” initiative is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to individuals from all backgrounds and skill levels, from beginners to experienced craftsmen. Through education, entrepreneurship opportunities, and dialogue sessions, participants can learn new techniques, share their experiences, and explore new ways to integrate traditional crafts into modern design practices. By fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, the initiative aims to inspire creativity, innovation, and a sense of pride in Saudi Arabia’s traditional arts and crafts.

As part of its commitment to preserving and promoting traditional arts, the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts also aims to identify and honor exceptional talents in the field. By recognizing and celebrating individuals who excel in traditional crafts, the Institute hopes to inspire others to learn and develop their skills, ensuring that Saudi Arabia’s heritage continues to thrive for generations to come. Through its initiatives and programs, the Institute is playing a vital role in preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Kingdom and fostering a sense of national pride and identity among its people.

Overall, the “Wrth Community” initiative launched by the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts is a significant step towards reviving and developing traditional crafts in Saudi Arabia. By integrating modern design and technology with traditional arts, promoting skills development, and fostering collaboration within the community, the initiative aims to ensure that Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage continues to be celebrated and preserved for future generations. Through education, entrepreneurship opportunities, and the recognition of exceptional talents, the initiative is creating a vibrant and sustainable ecosystem for traditional crafts, contributing to the enrichment of Saudi Arabia’s cultural landscape and promoting a sense of pride in the country’s artistic heritage.
