The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) in Bahrain is actively strengthening its dedication to a workplace built on fairness, inclusivity, and empowerment. This commitment was recently underscored during the third meeting of the iGA’s Equal Opportunities Committee, led by Chief Executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed. The meeting focused on bolstering equal opportunities for all employees, particularly Bahraini women, and fostering a more satisfying and productive work environment.

iGA Reinforces Commitment to Equal Opportunities

The iGA recognizes that a diverse and inclusive workforce is not just ethically sound, but also crucial for innovation and success. During the meeting, Al Qaed warmly welcomed committee members and expressed his appreciation for their ongoing efforts in championing equal opportunities and improving overall employee satisfaction. He stressed the need for proactive and innovative strategies to continually refine the work environment and ensure it remains supportive and equitable for everyone.

This isn’t simply about meeting quotas; it’s about creating a culture where every employee feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best work. The iGA understands that investing in its people is investing in the future of Bahrain’s digital transformation.

Reviewing Progress on the National Plan for Bahraini Women

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to reviewing a draft governance report for the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women 2025–2026. This plan is a key national initiative aimed at accelerating the progress of women in all sectors, and the iGA is committed to playing a leading role in its implementation.

Strengthening Gender Equality within iGA Operations

The committee carefully considered employee feedback gathered specifically to identify areas where gender equality could be further strengthened within the iGA’s internal operations. Discussions centered around potential improvements to policies, procedures, and training programs. This feedback-driven approach ensures that the iGA’s efforts are aligned with the real needs and experiences of its employees.

Additionally, the committee explored ways to address any unconscious biases that might exist and promote a more level playing field for all. This includes reviewing recruitment processes, performance evaluations, and opportunities for professional development.

Boosting Employee Morale and Recognizing Achievements

Beyond gender equality, the meeting also addressed broader aspects of employee well-being and engagement. The committee analyzed the results of a recent employee satisfaction survey, identifying key areas of strength and areas requiring attention.

Celebrating Success and Fostering Teamwork

Discussions focused on developing initiatives to better highlight the achievements of staff members, recognize their volunteer contributions, and share inspiring success stories. The goal is to foster a stronger sense of teamwork, collaboration, and excellence throughout the organization. Recognizing and celebrating individual and team accomplishments is a powerful way to boost morale and reinforce positive behaviors.

The iGA believes that a positive and supportive work environment is essential for attracting and retaining top talent, and for driving innovation and productivity. This focus on employee engagement is a core component of their overall strategy.

A Future Focused on Inclusivity and Empowerment

The meeting concluded with a firm reaffirmation of the iGA’s commitment to cultivating a motivating and inclusive work environment. This commitment extends to providing robust support for employees and actively empowering Bahraini women, ensuring fairness, efficiency, and long-term professional and social stability.

The iGA’s dedication to workplace diversity is not a one-time effort, but an ongoing journey of continuous improvement. By prioritizing equal opportunities, fostering a culture of respect, and investing in its people, the iGA is positioning itself as a leader in Bahrain’s public sector and a model for other organizations to follow.

Looking ahead, the iGA will continue to monitor progress, gather feedback, and refine its strategies to ensure that its workplace remains a place where everyone can thrive. This proactive approach will be vital in achieving its goals and contributing to a more equitable and prosperous future for Bahrain.
