His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, recently commended the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) for its outstanding accomplishments under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Prince highlighted how the efforts of the NIHR are in line with the principles of the National Action Charter, the Constitution, and the laws of the Kingdom, as well as international and regional treaties.
During a meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, HRH Prince Salman received the Chairman of the NIHR, Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, where he presented the 11th annual report of the institution. His Royal Highness praised the human rights achievements as part of the comprehensive development of the Kingdom. Eng. Alderazi expressed his gratitude for the support provided by HRH Prince Salman to the NIHR’s initiatives, which have contributed to strengthening human rights achievements in Bahrain.
In attendance at the meeting were His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, H.E. Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki. The collective efforts of all these individuals demonstrate the commitment of the government to uphold human rights and ensure the well-being of all citizens.
The NIHR plays a crucial role in promoting and protecting human rights in Bahrain, as well as in addressing any violations that may occur. The institution’s efforts are in compliance with both national and international standards, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to upholding human rights principles. The support and recognition from HRH Prince Salman serve to further motivate the NIHR in its mission to safeguard human rights in Bahrain.
The annual report presented by the NIHR not only highlights the achievements of the institution but also provides valuable insights into the state of human rights in the Kingdom. By recognizing and addressing the challenges faced in this area, the NIHR can work towards implementing effective measures to ensure the protection and promotion of human rights for all individuals in Bahrain.
Overall, the commendation from HRH Prince Salman towards the NIHR underscores the importance of upholding human rights values in Bahrain. The collaboration between government officials and the NIHR demonstrates a unified commitment to advancing the well-being and rights of all individuals in the Kingdom. As Bahrain continues its journey towards comprehensive development, the protection and promotion of human rights will remain a key priority for the government and its affiliated institutions.
