Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, Qatar, has reached a significant milestone by serving over 50 million passengers in a rolling 12-month period for the first time in its history. This accomplishment comes in the airport’s 10th year of operations, highlighting its growth and strategic positioning as a vital global aviation hub. The facility has seen a 25 per cent increase in point-to-point passenger operations, attributed to the rising number of international visitors to Doha, which increased by 58 per cent in 2023 compared to the previous year.

In 2023, Hamad International Airport welcomed 3 new airline partners, with an additional 4 partners joining in the first 4 months of 2024. The airport served 255 destinations in 2023, including passenger, cargo, and chartered flight destinations, further enhancing its connectivity and service offerings. The Airport Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific and Middle East Air Connectivity Ranking 2023 ranked Doha as having the second-best air connectivity in the Middle East, based on the number of destinations, frequency of services, and quality of connections.

The Middle East is experiencing steady growth in air connectivity, as per the ACI report, which recommends building new airport infrastructure to meet current and future demands. Hamad International Airport is expanding as part of its second phase of the airport expansion project to increase passenger capacity and lifestyle offerings. The airport’s growth trajectory and expansion plans reflect its commitment to providing exceptional services and maintaining its status as a leading global aviation hub.

With its robust facilities and services, major airlines can operate from the airport and provide extensive global networks, contributing to its success in air connectivity. Hamad International Airport’s dedication to excellence and innovation in the aviation industry is evident through its continuous growth and achievements. The airport’s strategic positioning, growth, and commitment to excellence make it a premier travel destination and a key player in the global aviation landscape.
