Bahrain Polytechnic Launches Series of Student Project Exhibitions

Bahrain Polytechnic student projects showcased in annual exhibitions

The Bahrain Polytechnic student projects were presented in a series of exhibitions during the 2025–2026 academic year at Bahrain Polytechnic, the college said. The events, held on campus, displayed more than 400 student works across engineering, creative media and information and communications technology (ICT) disciplines, with attendance from industry representatives, families and academic staff.

According to college officials, the exhibitions took place as part of Bahrain Polytechnic’s ongoing commitment to applied, challenge-based learning and to its 2026–2029 strategic priorities. The chief executive, Professor Kieran O’Kahon, described the shows as a practical platform for students to demonstrate hands-on outcomes developed throughout their programmes.

The exhibitions brought together over 400 projects, including more than 200 engineering projects, 140 creative media displays and 140 ICT projects, the college reported. Engineering projects addressed topics such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, sustainability and automation, while creative media entries covered multimedia production, brand identity and interactive storytelling.

Students from the College of Engineering exhibited a majority of the entries with solutions focused on system design and applied research. Meanwhile, the College of Creative Media showcased design portfolios and experiential media work, and the Information and Communications Technology entrants demonstrated applications in cybersecurity, mobile app development and data analytics.

College leaders said the exhibitions reflect a pedagogy that integrates academic learning with practical application and industry collaboration. Professor Kieran O’Kahon emphasized that the teaching model prioritizes problem-solving, critical thinking and project-based assessments to prepare graduates for the workforce.

Furthermore, the college noted that industry partners participated in judging and engagement activities, offering feedback and identifying potential pathways for commercialization or further development. This interaction, officials stated, is intended to strengthen employability and to align student outputs with market needs.

The Bahrain Polytechnic student projects serve multiple aims: demonstrating student competence, informing curricular improvements and fostering links with employers.
