With the extreme rise in temperatures during the summer months, motorists in the UAE face an increased risk of accidents. Tyre bursts are a common cause of accidents during this period, along with other incidents like fire accidents, which can lead to fatal outcomes. To ensure safety on the roads, it is imperative for motorists to service their cars regularly. In an effort to promote road safety, Dubai Police is offering a free car inspection service at AutoPro centres until the end of August. Private car owners can benefit from this service by availing of 10 vehicle health checks, including AC and air filter, seat belts condition, wiper blades condition, windshield washer fluid, radiator hoses condition, battery health, engine oil and coolant level, tyres pressure condition, fluids level, and lights.

Dubai Police, through the General Department of Traffic, has launched enhanced traffic awareness efforts for the summer months as part of the ‘Summer Without Accidents’ campaign. A field team from the Traffic Education Department has been educating drivers on tyre validity and efficiency, and issuing safety tips for motorists to follow to avoid accidents. These tips include ensuring tyre validity, checking for vibrations, monitoring for cracks and bulges in tyres, regularly changing engine oil, checking for fluid leaks, and maintaining regular vehicle check-ups. Due to the alarming rate of traffic accidents resulting in fatalities, injuries, and material losses, authorities are urging motorists to take necessary precautions and prioritize road safety.

In Abu Dhabi, police have issued a warning to motorists to be wary of tyre bursts after 22 traffic accidents were reported in 2023. They have also identified six items that are prone to catching fire if left in a car during the hot summer months. These measures aim to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of motorists and passengers on the road. As the summer temperatures soar, it is crucial for motorists to take proactive steps to maintain their vehicles and abide by the safety guidelines provided by the authorities. By prioritizing regular car servicing, conducting thorough vehicle check-ups, and following safety tips, motorists can reduce the risk of accidents and contribute to a safer driving environment for everyone.

It is commendable to see initiatives like the free car inspection service offered by Dubai Police to promote road safety and prevent accidents during the summer months. By educating drivers on the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and providing them with the necessary tools to ensure their vehicles are in top condition, authorities are taking proactive steps to reduce the likelihood of accidents on the road. As motorists take advantage of these services and adhere to the safety guidelines provided, the chances of accidents due to tyre bursts or other vehicle-related issues can be minimized. Through collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies, motorists, and the community, a ‘Summer Without Accidents’ campaign can be achieved, ensuring a safer and more secure road environment for everyone.

In conclusion, as the UAE grapples with the challenges of extreme summer temperatures and the increased risk of accidents on the roads, it is essential for motorists to prioritize vehicle maintenance and safety. By availing of services like the free car inspection offered by Dubai Police, conducting regular vehicle check-ups, and following safety tips provided by authorities, motorists can play a crucial role in preventing accidents and promoting road safety. With the collective effort of all stakeholders involved, including law enforcement agencies, motorists, and the community, a ‘Summer Without Accidents’ campaign can be successful in reducing accidents and creating a safer driving environment for everyone. By taking proactive measures and adhering to safety guidelines, motorists can contribute to a safer road environment and protect themselves and others from potential risks on the road.
