Novak Djokovic has recently expressed his intentions to continue playing tennis for years to come. The 37-year-old Serbian player is determined to compete in more tournaments in 2025 with the goal of reclaiming his ranking and taking down the new guard of players such as Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alzaraz. Despite facing a disappointing season in 2024, Djokovic remains optimistic about his future in the sport.

In preparation for his upcoming matches at the Brisbane International, Djokovic emphasized the importance of starting the season strong and achieving more consistency across all tournaments. He aims to increase his tournament participation compared to last season in hopes of elevating his performance level. With his eyes set on winning more tournaments, Djokovic is determined to boost his ranking to where it rightfully belongs.

Having dominated the tennis scene alongside other legendary players like Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, and Roger Federer, Djokovic finds himself entering a new phase in his career as the last remaining member of the “Big Four” still actively competing. As the younger generation of players like Sinner and Alcaraz rise to prominence, Djokovic is determined to maintain his competitive edge and pursue further Grand Slam victories.

Despite nearing his 38th birthday in May, Djokovic has no plans of retiring anytime soon. He remains motivated and passionate about the sport, expressing his love for competing and his commitment to continue challenging himself on the court. With a record 24 Grand Slam titles under his belt, Djokovic is eyeing an 11th Australian Open title next month and hopes to secure his 25th Grand Slam crown in the near future.

At the Brisbane International, Djokovic will face Australian wildcard Rinky Hijikata in his first official tournament match since his loss to Sinner in the 2024 Shanghai Masters final. Additionally, Djokovic will pair up with Nick Kyrgios in the doubles competition, marking Kyrgios’ return to competitive play after recovering from knee, foot, and wrist injuries. As Djokovic embarks on the new season, he remains focused on his goals and determined to continue his legacy as one of the greatest tennis players of all time.
