The High Criminal Court in Manama is currently dealing with the case of a married couple, an Arab man, and a European woman, who have been accused of theft. The incident took place when the European woman was caught on CCTV stealing 13 gold necklaces worth BD2,125 from a jewelry store in Manama. The court is set to deliver its verdict in this case on May 29, 2024.

During the court hearings, the European woman confessed to the theft charges brought against her, while her husband denied any involvement in the crime. The jewelry store had reported the missing necklaces after conducting an inventory of their merchandise. Upon reviewing the security camera footage, it was revealed that the couple had entered the store together, with the woman discreetly stealing the necklaces while her husband was engaged in conversation with a store employee.

The European woman admitted that she had gone to Manama with her husband and children to purchase items when she decided to enter a jewelry store. While inside the store, she engaged in conversation with her husband and managed to secretly steal the 13 necklaces of various sizes and shapes, concealing them in her handbag. She claimed that her husband was unaware of her actions and had no involvement in the theft.

The husband, on the other hand, stated that he had accompanied his wife to the store where he purchased a gold necklace worth BD58. He maintained that he was a regular customer of the store and had no knowledge of his wife’s actions. The police later arrived at their residence and summoned them to the police station after being informed of the theft. The husband cooperated with the police by surrendering the stolen gold and maintained his innocence in the matter.

The court is expected to render its verdict in this case on May 29, 2024, as the legal proceedings continue. The married couple remains embroiled in this theft case, with the European woman admitting to her involvement while her husband denies any complicity in the crime. The jewelry store continues to seek justice for the stolen necklaces, valued at BD2,125, as the trial unfolds. The outcome of this case will shed light on the involvement of each party and determine the appropriate legal consequences for their actions.
