Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has announced plans to open a car production plant in Pakistan and start selling three models through a partnership with Mega Motors. This move marks BYD as the first major new electric vehicle entrant in the Pakistani market, which currently lacks charging infrastructure. In addition to the production plant, BYD plans to open three “flagship stores and experience centers” in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
