The Bahrain Almond Market, organized by the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, is back for its second edition. The festival offers a unique opportunity to experience authentic Bahraini agriculture, with over 13 local farmers participating and showcasing their fresh almonds. The Ministry plans to plant 1,000 almond seedlings during the festival to promote the preservation of this vital crop. The market draws crowds from across the region, with visitors from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai.

The market goes beyond just almonds, with productive farming families and plant nurseries also showcasing almond seedlings, other fruit varieties, and louz-related products. Activities for children and educational programs about almond trees are also available. The Outdoor Educational Center and Global Shapers Manama Hub have partnered to create an educational corner within the market, where children can explore and learn about different kinds of almond trees. Teachers will be volunteering to share their knowledge and foster appreciation for this valuable crop.

Reem Yateem, Founder of Learn to Grow Educational Center, emphasizes the importance of the market’s educational aspect, working to connect people with nature and promoting a healthy planet equals healthy people. The second edition of the Bahrain Almond Market takes place at the Budaiya Botanical Garden’s Farmers Market and provides a unique opportunity to taste Bahraini almonds and celebrate the country’s rich agricultural heritage.

Seerous Shakeeb, a volunteer at Budaiya Farmers Market, reports high foot traffic at the event, with around 2,000 visitors within the first two hours last year. This year’s market offers a wider range of offerings compared to the previous edition, with a focus on educating the next generation about almonds and the importance of preserving this vital crop. The market is open to the public today and tomorrow from 4.00 PM to 8.00 PM.

Overall, the Bahrain Almond Market’s second edition is a unique opportunity to experience authentic Bahraini agriculture, support local farmers, and learn about the importance of preserving almond trees. With a focus on education, activities for children, and a diverse selection of products, the market aims to promote a healthier future and connect people with nature. Don’t miss the chance to explore the market and taste the unique flavor of Bahraini almonds while celebrating the country’s rich agricultural heritage.
