In collaboration with various government agencies, the center has launched a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of the energy efficiency card in improving energy consumption in the Kingdom.
This awareness campaign is an extension of previous efforts initiated in 2014 under the National Campaign for Rationalizing Energy Consumption. The main goal of the campaign is to educate the public about the energy efficiency card’s necessity at points of sale, as well as its contents, implications, and significance in helping consumers make informed choices. Messages within the campaign promote positive behaviors to reduce energy consumption in dishwashers and emphasize the importance of checking for the energy efficiency card using the “Taakad” application before making a purchase to select a device with a green level of efficiency.
The Saudi Energy Efficiency Center, established in 2010, aims to promote energy efficiency in both production and consumption. The center’s collaboration with government agencies such as the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, SASO, and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority demonstrates a coordinated effort to improve energy consumption practices in the Kingdom.
