Doha, Qatar – Registration is now open for the Education City Ramadan Challenge 2026, a unique women-only running series designed to promote fitness and community during the holy month. Organized by Qatar Sports For All (QSFA), the four-race event will take place at Education City Stadium, offering a dedicated space for female athletes of all ages and abilities. Early bird registration is currently available through the QSFA App.

The series is scheduled for Saturdays in February and March 2026, specifically on February 21st, 28th, March 7th, and March 14th. The event aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for women to participate in physical activity, with strict guidelines in place regarding access and photography. Places are limited, encouraging prompt registration for interested participants.

The Education City Ramadan Challenge: A Focus on Women’s Fitness

The QSFA’s initiative responds to a growing demand for inclusive sporting opportunities in Qatar. According to organizers, the event is specifically designed as a private space for women, with no male presence permitted within the stadium during the races. This commitment to privacy is further reinforced by a prohibition on photography throughout the event.

Race Details and Schedule

The Ramadan Challenge will feature three race categories catering to different age groups and fitness levels. The Mini-Kids race, a 5-minute run, will begin at 8:30 PM. Following this, the Juniors will compete in a 10-minute race at 8:40 PM. Finally, the Adult race will offer both 15-minute and 30-minute options, starting at 9:00 PM.

Participants in the series will receive a commemorative medal for each of the four races, totaling four Ramadan-themed medals. Additionally, each runner will receive a unique event T-shirt for each race, providing a complete collection throughout the series. This incentive aims to encourage consistent participation and build a sense of accomplishment.

The choice of Education City Stadium as the venue provides a modern and well-equipped facility for the event. Education City has become a hub for sporting activities in Qatar, hosting numerous international competitions and community events. The stadium’s accessibility and infrastructure contribute to a positive experience for both participants and organizers.

However, the timing of the event during Ramadan presents unique logistical considerations. Adjustments to race schedules and hydration strategies will be necessary to accommodate participants who are fasting. The QSFA has not yet released detailed information regarding these accommodations, but is expected to do so closer to the event date. This is a common practice for sporting events held during the holy month, with organizers prioritizing the well-being of athletes.

Meanwhile, the focus on women’s sports aligns with Qatar’s broader efforts to promote gender equality and encourage female participation in all aspects of society. The country has invested significantly in developing women’s sports programs and providing opportunities for female athletes to excel. This event is a further demonstration of that commitment.

In contrast to many traditional running events, the Education City Ramadan Challenge prioritizes a specific demographic and a unique atmosphere. This targeted approach allows for a more tailored experience and addresses the specific needs and preferences of female runners. The event’s organizers hope this will foster a stronger sense of community and encourage greater participation in sports among women in Qatar.

The QSFA App remains the sole platform for registration, and organizers emphasize that spaces are limited. The deadline for early bird registration is currently unspecified, but potential participants are advised to register promptly to secure their place. Further details regarding race logistics, hydration protocols, and any potential modifications to the schedule will be announced by the QSFA in the coming months. The next step will be the release of the official race guidelines and a detailed event schedule, which participants will need to review before the event.
