Doha, Qatar – The Doha Equestrian Tour 2026 has revealed a refreshed brand identity and logo, signaling a commitment to expanding its presence on the global stage. The tour, comprised of ten international championships, will run from January 2 to April 4, 2026, and boasts a total prize pool exceeding €10 million. Organizers say the new branding reflects the tournament’s dedication to both its rich equestrian heritage and the high level of competition it consistently delivers.

Khalifa Al Attiyah, Executive Director of the Doha Equestrian Tour, stated the updated identity is part of a strategic effort to solidify Qatar’s position as a leading equestrian hub. According to the organizing committee, the tour has become a cornerstone of the international equestrian calendar, attracting top athletes and showcasing Qatar’s capabilities as a world-class sporting destination.

Elevating Qatar’s Equestrian Profile with the Doha Equestrian Tour

The 2026 edition builds upon the success of previous tours, offering a diverse range of competitions from one-star to five-star levels. This tiered structure allows riders of all experience levels to participate, fostering growth within the sport. The tour’s organizers emphasize that Qatar’s investment in state-of-the-art facilities, such as Al Shaqab, is crucial to attracting and supporting these events.

Key Championships on the 2026 Calendar

The tour will kick off with the H H The Father Amir’s Cup from January 2-31, 2026, encompassing a series of competitions across various star ratings. This will be followed by the H H The Amir’s Sword International Equestrian Festival in February, which will also include dressage events alongside show jumping.

February will also host the prestigious Al Shaqab International Championship (CHI), sponsored by Longines, featuring show jumping, dressage, and para-dressage. The Longines Global Champions Tour, a highlight of the international show jumping circuit, will take place in March. Additionally, the tour will introduce three new championships: the Qatar Olympic Committee Cup, the Al Shaqab Cup, and the Qatar Equestrian Federation Cup.

These new additions demonstrate a commitment to broadening the scope of the Equestrian Tour and providing more opportunities for riders and national federations. The Qatar Olympic Committee Cup, Al Shaqab Cup, and Qatar Equestrian Federation Cup will each feature competitions ranging from one-star to five-star, including team events. The inclusion of team events is expected to draw increased participation and spectator interest.

Qatar’s growing reputation as a sporting powerhouse has been bolstered by hosting major events like the FIFA World Cup 2022. This experience has provided valuable infrastructure and logistical expertise that will be leveraged for the Equestrian Tour. The country’s strategic location also makes it an attractive destination for international athletes and equestrian enthusiasts. The development of equestrian sports in Qatar aligns with the nation’s broader vision for diversification and economic growth.

However, the success of the tour relies on continued investment in facilities and attracting top-tier riders. Maintaining high standards of organization and ensuring a positive experience for participants will be essential for long-term growth. The increasing popularity of equestrian sports globally presents both opportunities and challenges for Qatar as it seeks to establish itself as a permanent fixture on the international circuit.

Looking ahead, the organizing committee will focus on finalizing logistical details and promoting the event to attract both participants and spectators. The next key milestone will be the release of the official competition schedules and rider registration information. The continued development of Qatar’s equestrian infrastructure and the success of the 2026 tour will be closely watched by the international equestrian community.
