Bahrain’s Ministry of Labour recently announced plans to address the country’s unemployment rate of 6.3%. The Ministry aims to employ 20,000 Bahrainis and train 10,000 job seekers annually. These efforts are part of the National Plan for Labour Market Regulation (2023-2026), which focuses on aligning education with market demands, enhancing partnerships with the private sector, attracting investment, and strengthening labor laws.

To support job seekers, the Ministry offers registration and unemployment benefits. Non-university graduates can receive 150 Bahraini dinars per month, while university graduates may receive 200 Bahraini dinars for nine months. Those who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own can receive up to 60% of their previous salary for nine months, with a cap of 1000 BD per month. These measures aim to provide financial support to those in need while they search for new employment opportunities.

The Ministry’s efforts are aimed at creating high-quality job opportunities, improving oversight, and enhancing labor laws to create a conducive environment for job seekers. By focusing on training and employing Bahraini citizens, the Ministry hopes to reduce the unemployment rate and boost economic growth in the country. Initiatives like the National Plan for Labour Market Regulation play a crucial role in driving these efforts and ensuring a sustainable approach to addressing unemployment in Bahrain.

MP Abdulwahed Qarata praised the Ministry’s commitment to addressing unemployment and supporting job seekers during a recent inquiry. By working closely with stakeholders in the private sector and focusing on job creation and training programs, the Ministry aims to make a positive impact on Bahrain’s labor market. With a clear vision and strategic plan in place, Bahrain is poised to tackle unemployment effectively and create more opportunities for its citizens.

In conclusion, Bahrain’s Ministry of Labour is taking proactive steps to address the country’s unemployment rate through initiatives like the National Plan for Labour Market Regulation. By focusing on job creation, training programs, and partnerships with the private sector, the Ministry aims to provide support to job seekers and create high-quality job opportunities for Bahraini citizens. These efforts are crucial for driving economic growth, reducing unemployment, and creating a sustainable labor market in Bahrain. With a clear strategy and commitment from stakeholders, Bahrain is on track to make a positive impact on its labor market and support its citizens in finding meaningful employment.
