The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has revealed its sports events calendar for 2025, featuring 84 events, including 15 world-class championships. Some of the most anticipated events include the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships in May and the FIFA U-17 World Cup in November. The calendar kicks off with the finals of the King of the Court beach volleyball tournament in January and continues with various other sporting competitions throughout the year.

In February, Qatar will host several events such as the Beach Pro Tour Elite16, the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, and the Qatar ExxonMobil Open for Men and Qatar TotalEnergies Open for Women. The calendar also includes the H H The Amir’s Shooting Cup and the Lusail Shotgun Championship organized by the Qatar Shooting & Archery Association. In April, the spotlight will be on the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup, showcasing both men’s and women’s competitions, followed by the FIBA 3×3 U23 Youth League in June.

The calendar features a total of 36 international championships, including the Al Shaqab International League, the WTT Star Contender, the Qatar Fencing Grand Prix, and the H H The Amir’s Sword Equestrian Festival. On the Asian level, Qatar will host events like the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship, the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers, and the West Asia One-Day Athletics Championship. On the Arab level, the FIFA Arab Cup will take place in December at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums.

Local and community events also play a significant role in the calendar, with highlights like the National Sport Day, the QOC Half-Marathon, and various cup finals in basketball, football, volleyball, and handball. Gulf competitions include the GCC Men’s Tennis Championship, the GCC Padel Team Championship, and the GCC Youth and Junior Athletics Championship. The calendar aims to bring together athletes from different levels and regions to promote sports and healthy competition.

The Asian Events section of the calendar includes a range of tournaments and championships in sports like beach volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton, squash, and athletics. These events provide opportunities for Asian athletes to showcase their skills and compete at an international level. The calendar also features Gulf events such as the GCC Men’s Tennis Championship and the GCC Padel Team Championship for various age groups.

Overall, the 2025 sports events calendar by the Qatar Olympic Committee promises an exciting lineup of competitions and championships for athletes and sports enthusiasts to look forward to. With a diverse range of events spanning different sports and levels of competition, the calendar aims to promote sports development and foster a culture of health and fitness within the community. Qatar is set to host a series of international, regional, and local events that will showcase the country’s commitment to sports excellence and participation.
