Al Sadd come out on top in thrilling match against Al Shamal as Qatar SC defeat Al Khor

In a thrilling overtime game in the Qatar Basketball League 2024-25, Al Sadd emerged victorious over Al Shamal with a score of 101-98. The game, which took place at the Qatar Basketball Federation’s Indoor Hall, saw both teams tied at 84 points after the fourth quarter, leading to an intense overtime period. Grant Michael Dressler of Al Sadd was the standout player, scoring 23 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, and providing three assists. On the other hand, Makye Zeon Jowan Richard led Al Shamal with a game-high 34 points, along with six rebounds and four assists.

Throughout the game, both teams showcased their skills and determination, providing fans with a memorable match that kept them on the edge of their seats. The back-and-forth battle began with Al Sadd taking a slight lead in the first quarter, which was quickly overturned by Al Shamal in the second quarter. Al Shamal continued their dominance in the third quarter, only for Al Sadd to bounce back and force the game into overtime with a strong performance in the fourth quarter.

The overtime period proved to be the deciding factor in the match, with Al Sadd’s resilience and composure ultimately securing their victory with a score of 101-98. Dressler’s exceptional performance, along with Babacar Dieng’s 22 points and five rebounds, played a crucial role in Al Sadd’s success. Despite the loss, Al Shamal’s Christian Casas and Mohamed Hassan Mohamed also put in commendable efforts, scoring 16 and 10 points respectively.

In another exciting game at the same venue, Qatar SC managed to secure a narrow 70-67 win over Al Khor. Dejan Janjic was the standout player for Qatar SC, recording a game-high 28 points, 16 rebounds, and two assists. Oumar Seck and Jordan Rawls also made significant contributions to Qatar SC’s victory, scoring 12 points each and displaying impressive performances on the court.

The game between Qatar SC and Al Khor saw a similar pattern to the Al Sadd vs. Al Shamal match, with both teams showcasing their determination and competitive spirit. After a strong start from Al Khor in the first quarter, Qatar SC managed to turn the tide in the second quarter and maintained their lead throughout the game, despite Al Khor’s valiant efforts to close the gap in the final quarter.

Overall, the Round 7 games in the Qatar Basketball League provided basketball fans with thrilling matchups and exceptional performances from some of the league’s top players. Al Sadd and Qatar SC emerged victorious in their respective games, showcasing their skills and resilience on the court. As the season progresses, fans can expect more excitement and intense competition as the teams vie for the top spot in the league standings.
