In a historic achievement, the groundbreaking artwork ‘Qatar ArtBeat’ has officially set a new Guinness World Records™ title for the ‘Most People Contributing to an AI-Generated Image.’ This initiative, spearheaded by Media City Qatar in collaboration with Google Cloud, saw over 15,000 contributions from the nation’s social media community, creating a stunning artwork that captured the essence of Qatar National Day 2024. The campaign reached over 5.4 million people and received 68,000 engagements, showcasing the power of AI and collaboration in the realm of creativity.

Utilizing Google Cloud’s innovative Vertex AI platform, Gemini models, and Google BigQuery data platform, diverse voices from Qatar were transformed into a visually striking artwork. The project also involved analyzing wider public conversations surrounding Qatar National Day 2024 to create an awe-inspiring piece that captured the spirit of the nation. Meeting the strict criteria set by Guinness World Records for the title of ‘Most People Contributing to an AI-Generated Image,’ the achievement was verified by an official adjudicator to ensure its authenticity.

Eng. Jassim Mohamed Al Khori, CEO of Media City Qatar, expressed pride in the collaboration with Google Cloud and the Qatar social media community, emphasizing the profound impact of AI on creativity and collaboration. By setting new records and shaping the future of innovation, ‘Qatar ArtBeat’ sends a clear message to the world that Qatar is at the forefront of pioneering initiatives that redefine boundaries and set new standards in the creative sphere.

Google Cloud’s Regional General Manager, Ghassan Kosta, hailed the collaboration with Media City Qatar as a demonstration of the transformative power of AI in creating impactful cultural experiences. By translating the nation’s collective sentiments into a visually captivating artwork, the project showcased the potential of AI to celebrate culture and creativity on a global platform. The partnership with Google Cloud played a crucial role in bringing the vision of ‘Qatar ArtBeat’ to life and achieving this historic record-breaking moment.

Shaddy Gaad, Senior Marketing Manager at Guinness World Records™, lauded ‘Qatar ArtBeat’ as a truly historic achievement that highlights innovation and collaboration in the creative realm. The title of ‘Most People Contributing to an AI-Generated Image’ recognizes the groundbreaking nature of the project by Media City Qatar and Google Cloud, showcasing Qatar’s ability to unite its nation around creative initiatives that push boundaries and inspire collective engagement.

The ‘Qatar ArtBeat’ activation, which took place from December 9 to 17, invited the public to share their thoughts and sentiments on Qatar through engaging questions on social media platforms. The resulting artwork will be projected onto iconic landmarks in Qatar, as well as shared with a global audience through Media City Qatar’s digital channels. This initiative not only demonstrates Qatar’s commitment to innovation and creativity but also positions Media City Qatar as a leader in leveraging advanced technologies and community engagement to drive economic diversification and shape the future of media and technology in the region.
