Bahrain crush Kuwait’s dreams; Oman stun Saudi Arabia to advance to Arabian Gulf Cup final

Bahrain and Oman have secured their spots in the final of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup after defeating Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, respectively. In a thrilling match, Bahrain managed to secure a 1-0 victory over Kuwait despite being reduced to 10 men early in the second half. The winning goal came from Mohamed Marhoon in the 73rd minute after a right-wing free-kick caused chaos in the Kuwait box. On the other hand, Oman stunned Saudi Arabia with a gritty performance, winning 2-1, even after being reduced to 10 men in the first half. The Omani team showed resilience and determination, frustrating Saudi Arabia and earning a well-deserved victory.

In the first half of the match between Bahrain and Kuwait, there was little to separate the two teams, with both sides heading into the interval goalless. The game came alive in the second half when Bahrain’s Mahdi Abduljabber was shown a red card in the 52nd minute, giving Kuwait a man advantage. However, it was 10-man Bahrain who managed to break the deadlock when Marhoon scored in the 73rd minute. Despite Kuwait’s efforts to equalize, Bahrain’s defense held firm, securing a memorable victory in front of a passionate crowd of 60,122 spectators.

On the other hand, Oman faced a tough challenge against Saudi Arabia, with both teams locked in a goalless first half. Oman was reduced to 10 men in the 34th minute after a red card was shown to Al Mandhar Al Alawi. Despite the setback, Oman continued to frustrate Saudi Arabia and eventually took the lead in the 72nd minute through Arshad Al Alawi’s free kick. They doubled their lead in the 84th minute, sparking celebrations among the Omani supporters. Although Saudi Arabia managed to score a goal through Mohammed Kanno, Oman held on for a famous victory, securing their place in the final.

The victory for Bahrain and Oman sets up an exciting final for the Arabian Gulf Cup, with both teams looking to lift the prestigious trophy. Bahrain will be hoping to continue their impressive form and overcome the challenges posed by Oman, while Oman will be aiming to replicate their strong performance against Saudi Arabia. Football fans can expect an intense and thrilling final match as Bahrain and Oman battle it out for glory in the Arabian Gulf Cup.
