The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has announced that some bus routes will be temporarily diverted due to maintenance on Al Maktoum Bridge. These diversions will be in effect from September 29, 2024, until January 23, 2025. The affected routes include 10, 23, 27, 33, 88, C04, C05, C10, C26, E16, X28, and X94. Buses passing through Al Maktoum Bridge will be diverted via Al Garhoud bridge during this period. The bridge will observe semi-operational hours until January 16, 2025, with closures from Mondays to Saturdays from 11pm to 5am, and a 24-hour closure on Sundays.

In addition to the route diversions, the authority has also announced certain bus stops that will not be in service during this period. These include Dnata 1, Dnata 2, City Centre Metro Bus Stop 1-1, Oud Metha Bus Station 7, Umm Hurair, Road 2, and Rashid Hospital Roundabout 1. Service on Route 23 will now start and terminate at Deira City Centre Bus Station, with no pick-up or drop-off at Oud Metha Bus Station. These changes have been communicated through the S’hail app, allowing commuters to be aware of the updates and plan their journeys accordingly.

It is important for commuters in Dubai to stay up to date with the latest news and updates related to public transportation, especially during times of maintenance or diversions. Following news channels, such as KT on WhatsApp Channels, can help individuals stay informed about any changes that may impact their daily commute. By being aware of diversions and closures, passengers can adjust their travel plans and routes to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey during this period of maintenance on Al Maktoum Bridge.

During the diversion period, buses passing through Al Maktoum Bridge will be rerouted via Al Garhoud bridge, providing alternative routes for commuters to reach their destinations. The temporary closure of Al Maktoum Bridge during specific hours and days may inconvenience some passengers, but the authority is making efforts to minimize disruptions by providing clear information about the diversions and alternative routes. By following the diverted routes and adjusting their travel plans accordingly, passengers can continue to access reliable public transportation services in Dubai.

The temporary diversion of bus routes and the closure of Al Maktoum Bridge for maintenance highlight the importance of infrastructure upkeep and planning in a bustling city like Dubai. By conducting necessary maintenance work and implementing diversions, the Roads and Transport Authority aims to ensure the safety and efficiency of public transportation services for residents and visitors alike. Commuters are encouraged to monitor updates, plan their journeys in advance, and utilize alternative routes during the diversion period to avoid any inconvenience or delays in their travel plans.

In conclusion, the temporary diversion of bus routes and the closure of Al Maktoum Bridge for maintenance in Dubai will impact several bus services and stops. By staying informed about the diversions through channels like the S’hail app and news outlets, passengers can adjust their travel plans accordingly. The authority’s efforts to communicate changes and provide alternative routes demonstrate a commitment to maintaining and improving public transportation services in the city. Commuters are advised to plan ahead, follow the diverted routes, and stay updated on any developments during the maintenance period to ensure a seamless and efficient journey.
