The Family Guidance Strategy was recently launched by Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi during the opening of the 7th edition of the 2024 Family Forum in Riyadh. This strategy includes more than 12 initiatives that aim to cover all family and societal requirements. It focuses on empowering and improving the performance of those in the field of family guidance, as well as qualifying them and enhancing their skills. The goal is to enhance society’s understanding of the role of family guidance in improving family relations, resolving conflicts, and supporting stability. The ministry plans to issue licenses for 500 practitioners in 2024, with the aim of reaching 4,000 family counseling practitioners by 2030.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s Family Counseling Strategy is designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of social services and align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. Through this strategy, the ministry aims to enhance family stability and promote comprehensive and sustainable development goals. The strategy went through several stages, including standard comparisons of international and regional experiences in the field, as well as workshops with the participation of 13 governmental and private entities. This highlights the ministry’s commitment to improving specialized practices in the field of family counseling.

The Family Guidance Strategy focuses on expanding the scope of family services, increasing geographical coverage, and providing services to a larger number of beneficiaries across all regions of the Kingdom. The strategy aims to promote the positive impact of family guidance on improving family relations, resolving conflicts, and supporting stability. By organizing and implementing various programs and initiatives for society and the family, the ministry seeks to enhance the quality of family counseling services and promote a better understanding of the role of family guidance in society.

One of the key objectives of the Family Counseling Strategy is to develop the capabilities and skills of those working in the field of family counseling. By empowering practitioners and improving their performance, the ministry aims to achieve a higher level of proficiency in providing family counseling services. This will ultimately contribute to enhancing family relations, resolving conflicts, and supporting stability within families and society as a whole. The strategy also aims to increase the number of licensed family counseling practitioners in order to meet the growing demand for family counseling services in the Kingdom.

Through the Family Guidance Strategy, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is committed to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and promoting social development in the Kingdom. By focusing on improving specialized practices in the field of family counseling, the ministry aims to enhance family stability and support the overall well-being of individuals and communities. The strategy emphasizes the importance of family guidance in building strength from within in a changing world, and highlights the positive impact of family counseling on improving family relations and promoting stability.
