The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) in Saudi Arabia recently announced the opening of applications for obtaining a license for Managed Security Operations Center (MSOC) services. This initiative is part of NCA’s strategic goals to develop the cybersecurity sector, create a supportive environment for investments in the cybersecurity market, and enhance competitiveness. By providing reliable and high-quality cybersecurity services to national organizations, NCA aims to improve the overall cybersecurity posture of the Kingdom.

Interested service providers can apply for an MSOC license through the National Cybersecurity Services Portal “Haseen” from Wednesday, Aug. 28 for a 60-day period. This effort is in alignment with the objectives of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, which aims to strengthen cybersecurity in Saudi Arabia and build an integrated cybersecurity ecosystem to meet the growing demand for cybersecurity services. National organizations will benefit from access to mature and reliable cybersecurity services as well as the development of specialized national capabilities in this field.

To assist investors and service providers in the cybersecurity sector, NCA has published an “Investor’s Guide” on their website, nca.gov.sa/en/registration-and-licensing. This guide provides a detailed explanation of the process for investors and service providers seeking to operate in the cybersecurity market in Saudi Arabia. NCA encourages service providers interested in offering MSOC services in the Kingdom to review the requirements outlined in the “Regulatory Framework for Licensing Managed Security Operations Center Services” and submit their applications through the NCA Portal “Haseen.”

As the national entity responsible for cybersecurity in Saudi Arabia, NCA plays a crucial role in safeguarding the Kingdom’s vital interests, national security, critical infrastructures, high-priority sectors, and government services. By improving the cybersecurity posture of the Kingdom, NCA aims to protect against cyber threats and ensure the resilience of the country’s digital infrastructure. This initiative will not only benefit national organizations by providing access to high-quality cybersecurity services but also contribute to the overall development of the cybersecurity sector in Saudi Arabia.

The opening of applications for MSOC licenses reflects NCA’s commitment to fostering a secure and competitive cybersecurity market in Saudi Arabia. By encouraging investments in the cybersecurity sector and providing a supportive environment for service providers, NCA aims to enhance the overall cybersecurity capabilities of the Kingdom. This initiative will help meet the growing demand for cybersecurity services and support the development of a robust cybersecurity ecosystem in Saudi Arabia, ultimately enhancing the cybersecurity posture of national organizations and strengthening the country’s resilience against cyber threats.
