Novak Djokovic reached his record-equalling 13th Wimbledon semifinal without having to play a match as his opponent, Alex de Minaur, pulled out due to a hip injury. This puts Djokovic on par with Roger Federer for the most semifinal appearances at Wimbledon. The Serbian player is also on track to potentially surpass Federer’s eight singles titles at the tournament, as he advances to his 49th men’s Grand Slam semifinal.

De Minaur expressed disappointment at having to withdraw from the match, acknowledging that it would have been a significant opportunity in his career. The Australian player cited the risk of exacerbating his injury and causing a longer recovery period if he had competed against Djokovic. Despite not securing any titles this year and still aiming for his first win against a top-10 player, Djokovic remains focused on claiming his 25th Grand Slam victory, with a strong performance at Wimbledon.

Djokovic’s recent success at the All England Club is particularly impressive given his knee surgery following an injury at the French Open. Despite this setback, the world number two has showcased remarkable form and determination on the court, advancing through the tournament with dominant performances. As he continues his pursuit of tennis greatness, Djokovic’s sights are set on securing another Wimbledon title and further cementing his legacy in the sport.

The Serbian player’s resilience and skill have been evident throughout his career, with numerous achievements and records to his name. Djokovic’s consistent presence in the semifinals of major tournaments reflects his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. As he competes against the best players in the world, Djokovic’s pursuit of excellence and pursuit of Grand Slam titles continue to define his legacy in tennis.

Djokovic’s potential to surpass Federer’s Wimbledon record and add to his impressive Grand Slam tally underscores his status as one of the greatest players in tennis history. With a remarkable ability to overcome challenges and setbacks, Djokovic remains a formidable force on the court, capable of achieving new milestones and setting records in the sport. As he progresses in the tournament and moves closer to his 25th Grand Slam victory, Djokovic’s legacy as a tennis legend continues to grow.
