Dr. Al-Tuwaijri highlighted the country’s dedication to human welfare, prioritizing it above all else. She stated that this commitment is based on deeply rooted principles and values within Saudi society, as well as the leadership’s focus on promoting and protecting human rights.

During the session to adopt the results of the fourth cycle of the Universal Periodic Review mechanism, Dr. Al-Tuwaijri led the Kingdom’s delegation and emphasized Saudi Arabia’s extensive cooperation with the review mechanism. She emphasized the importance of principles such as equality, dialogue, cooperation, neutrality, objectivity, and transparency in global efforts to enhance human rights. Dr. Al-Tuwaijri also mentioned that Saudi Arabia has accepted over 80% of the recommendations from the fourth cycle of the Universal Periodic Review, demonstrating its genuine commitment to human rights.

In the interactive dialogue, Dr. Al-Tuwaijri highlighted the significant reforms and advancements in human rights that have taken place in Saudi Arabia. She stated that more than 150 legislative, institutional, judicial, and procedural reforms have been implemented since the adoption of Saudi Vision 2030. Despite the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, these reforms have continued to progress in the Kingdom.
