Al Sadd, the reigning Qatar Stars League champions, are gearing up for the upcoming season with a preparatory camp in Malaga, Spain. The Wolves, who have had a successful run in the past season clinching their 17th League title and their 19th Amir Cup crown, announced that the camp will take place at the Marbella Football Center from July 9 to 29. This camp is an extension of their preparations which started under the guidance of Spanish coach Sergio Alegre. Alegre, who was previously an assistant to former coach Xavi, along with the support staff, held their first training session last Monday at the club’s training center.

During their time in Malaga, Al Sadd will engage in several friendly matches against local teams to ensure they are in top shape for the new League season, now named as the Ooredoo Stars League, which is set to kick off on August 9. Additionally, the team is also preparing for the new AFC Champions League Elite tournament, which features the top 24 teams from across Asia and is set to begin in mid-September. Al Gharafa, under coach Pedro Martins, will also be heading to Europe for their pre-season training camp in Slovakia from July 16 to August 1 after an impressive third-place finish last season in the Qatar Stars League.

On the other hand, Al Rayyan Club has renewed the contracts of three key players, Osama Al Tairi, Abdullah Al Ali, and Tamim Mansour, as they prepare for League action. The trio have been secured for five more seasons until 2029 as part of the club’s strategy to retain its young talents. Additionally, Al Rayyan Club has also renewed the contract of Abdullah Al Menhali until 2027. However, the team saw the departure of goalkeeper Saud Al Hajri following his retirement after a 20-year career, as well as Moroccan Achraf Bencharki and Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim. The team has already started their training sessions in Doha and will be heading to the Netherlands for pre-season preparations from July 10 to 29.

Both Al Gharafa and Al Shamal will also be heading to the Netherlands for their training camps. Al Gharafa, under the guidance of coach Pedro Martins, will be holding their camp from July 16 to August 1, while Al Shamal will train from July 14 to August 2. It is clear that the teams in the Qatar Stars League are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations for the upcoming season, with high hopes of continued success and achievements in the upcoming tournaments. As fans eagerly await the start of the season, all eyes will be on these teams as they work hard to showcase their talent and skills on the field.
