The State of Qatar is currently hosting the first meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states’ Scouts and Guides committee, which is set to run until June 28. This meeting was convened following a decision made during the 8th Meeting of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Education of the GCC countries in Doha on June 4. The committee is focused on discussing the recommendations of the technical committees, approving the activity plan and schedule for GCC Scout and Guide activities for the upcoming year, as well as establishing the committee’s strategic plan, among other crucial topics.

Jassim Al Hardan, the Commissioner General of the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, highlighted the significance of implementing the decision made by Their Excellencies Ministers of Education. This decision calls for the enhancement of the Gulf Scout committee’s work, the launch of Gulf volunteer work projects, the development of leadership training modules, and programs that aim to instill Islamic and cultural values among participants. This shows a commitment to promoting teamwork, leadership, and cultural understanding among the youth of the GCC states.

The GCC Scouts and Guides committee meeting aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination among the Gulf countries in the field of scouting and guiding. By approving the activity plan and setting a strategic plan, the committee is working towards providing a unified approach to Scout and Guide activities in the region. This will enable them to better serve the youth by offering opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and cultural exchange.

One of the key objectives of the GCC Scouts and Guides committee meeting is to promote volunteer work projects within the region. By developing leadership training modules and programs that focus on Islamic and cultural values, the committee aims to empower young people to become active and engaged members of their communities. This focus on volunteerism and cultural understanding will not only benefit the individuals involved but also contribute to the overall development and unity of the GCC states.

The Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, under the leadership of Jassim Al Hardan, is playing a crucial role in hosting and organizing the GCC Scouts and Guides committee meeting. Their commitment to implementing the decisions and recommendations of the Ministers of Education highlights their dedication to promoting scouting and guiding in the region. Through their efforts, they are helping to create a platform for collaboration and exchange of ideas among the GCC countries, ultimately fostering a stronger sense of community and unity among the youth.

In conclusion, the GCC Scouts and Guides committee meeting in Doha represents a significant step towards enhancing cooperation and coordination among the Gulf countries in the field of scouting and guiding.
