Saudi Consuls General designate of New York and Suez swear their oath before Foreign Minister.

Abdullah Al-Hamdan and Marzouq Al-Nafei were recently appointed as Consuls General in the United States and Egypt, respectively. Both officials took the oath of office before Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Riyadh. Al-Hamdan will serve at the Saudi consulate general in New York, while Al-Nafei will be stationed at the Saudi consulate general in Suez.

During the oath-taking ceremony, both consuls general-designate swore to be faithful to their religion, king, and homeland. They pledged not to disclose any state secrets, protect the interests and regulations of their country, and carry out their duties with honesty, integrity, and sincerity. This ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed Al-Khereiji, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Executive Affairs Abdul Hadi Al-Mansouri, and Undersecretary at the Ministry for Protocol Affairs Abdul Majeed Al-Sammari.

The appointment of Al-Hamdan and Al-Nafei to their new roles reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to maintaining strong diplomatic relations with the United States and Egypt. Consuls General play a crucial role in representing their country’s interests abroad, assisting citizens residing in their jurisdiction, and facilitating trade and cultural exchanges between nations.
